The  Office of the Special Education Ombud commitment to students and their families extends beyond direct services; we’re here to help you find additional resources to support you through your journey. Reach out to any of the organizations below for more information. 

  • UNM-CDD (University of New Mexico Center for Development and Disability 
    The UNM Health Center for Development and Disability offers expert care for children who have speech, movement and cognitive disabilities. Our team of trained specialists will help your child get the care they need to grow and flourish at home, school and in the world around them. Whether you need screening to diagnose a condition or therapy for nutrition or communication challenges, you can find the supportive care you need at UNM Health.
     
  • EPICS (Education for Parents of Indigenous Children with Special Needs)
    Education for Parents of Indigenous Children with Special Needs (EPICS) is a community parent resource center serving New Mexico families of Native American children, from birth to 26 years old, with disabilities, developmental delays, special healthcare needs, and deaf or hard of hearing. EPICS provides comprehensive training that focuses on advocacy, leadership, support, and capacity building with the highest standards, accountability and continuous improvement. 
     
  • PRO (Parents Reaching Out)
    Parents Reaching Out (PRO) provides support, training and tools for families and youth with disabilities or complex medical needs. We invite you to explore the many ways we can support and guide you through your early childhood, educational, and healthcare needs.
